Cut mailing costs in half with filtered database techniques.
The filtered database technique is one of the most powerful tools within direct mail, and yet it is often ignored by mailers - despite the huge savings that can be made.
Hamilton House undertake a wide range of database work including matching your database with ours, cleaning and de-duplicating, and so on - a list of services and prices is given below.
However perhaps the most important process in database analysis involves analysing your data to look for trends which can then save you money.
For example, let us imagine that you regularly mail to a wide range of businesses, schools or any other type of institution. We can analyse the responses you get against the original mailing list and pick out the trends. We might find, to give one example, that although you mail across the UK, only 5% of your orders come from the north of the country, while 40% of the addresses you mail are in the north. Or you might find that although 45% of the schools you mail have under 100 pupils, only 3% have placed orders.
In such cases you can then cut mailing a substantial part of your database, and thus reduce your costs dramatically. Of course you might still want to mail everyone once a year - but in doing so you will be making a decision based on the fact that you are going to get a very low response rate from these poor-performing businesses or schools.
