The MIE newsgroups (sponsored by Hamilton House Mailings)  offer a free service disseminating information and discussion over three areas

• Education Marketing (selling to schools, colleges and parents
• Direct Marketing (including email marketing, direct mail, phone selling etc) )
• Creative work in direct mail (copy writing and design) Marketing Minute (a commentary on a leading issue of the week)

Each list provides a news service, plus a regular commentary on issues.  Members can also post in their own questions for other members to answer - most answers are provided outside the group to avoid  too many messages being posted to everyone.

Marketing Minute takes one or two of the commentaries of the week from across the full range of direct mail and expands them, but does not carry members comments or questions, nor the full news service.

The news services are actively linked to the MIE web sites, and commentaries are on occasionally published on one of the MIE sites.  Please click here for more information on the Mailing Information Exchange.

No advertisements are permitted on the groups and the groups are heavily moderated to ensure that they only cover items directly related to marketing into the world of education.

There is no charge for the service.

To join, send an email to the address/addresses below for the group/s you want to join.  For example for Education Marketing just send an email to education-marketing-subscribe@yahoogroups.com   

You will receive back an email requesting that you confirm your wish to join - simply click on reply and you will be a member.   You may leave at any time by sending a further email - but please note that the subsequent email must be sent from the same email address as the original.   So if you subscribe to the list from Myname@myweb.co.uk you will have to use that same email address when you want to leave.  Sending an email from Myothername@myweb.co.uk will simply result in the automatic system telling you that Myothername is not a member of the group.
