Doubling response rates in direct mail

Have a website, including web address, hosting and email facilities for £175

If you are mailing it is always desirable to have a website so that you can direct your readers to a highly relevant page on that site. A generalised site, or a site that does not directly relate to your advert, doesn't help.

It is especially important to have a web link if you are running email adverts because, if you load your email with pictures, that reduces the number of readers - either because they don't open the email, or because the pictures cause them to block it and they dont see it at all. (Most schools block emails with images so beware if you are emailing schools)

The way round this is to use interesting text and then have a link in the email to the website.

That's why we run this service - to allow companies to have built, very quickly, a site that relates to their promotions.

Here’s what you do: supply us with the text in Word or as an .rtf file and any .jpg illustrations you want included. Also tell us the web address of the site that you want.

What we do: we will purchase the web address, build the site, host it for one year, and set up email forwarding to your address. We’ll also give you the instructions on how you can then send emails from the address you have chosen.

The costs: Purchasing your uk web address, building a two page site, hosting for one year, and setting up the email service - £175.00 plus VAT

2 pages and beyond: Each extra page is charged at £50 plus VAT. Although we don’t limit how much you can put on a page, the fact is that we don’t recommend going much beyond two screens worth, as people won’t read everything. We do limit the number of pictures per page to four.

After the first year: The site can be continued for £50 per year.

Changes to pages: A minor change to a page such as changing an address, or a set of such minor changes is charged at £50. A complete change to a page (in which you provide all the text) is also £50, including up to 2 new pictures. Likewise the addition of a new page in which you provide text and up to 2 pictures is also £50.

What it looks like: We work in a style that we know brings in a significant number of readers. This site is an example of the sort of style and approach that we will use to construct your website.

Site names: We can purchase any site name for you that has not been taken, and which ends in .uk If you specifically want a name that ends in any other suffix there will be an additional charge. When choosing a site name it is best if you can provide a list of alternatives, in case some have already been taken.

Transfer of site to ourselves: We can only undertake to receive sites that are registered in the UK. The transfer fee is £20 – however please do note that you will have to negotiate with the company that currently hosts your site for them to release it and this is often a cause of delay about which we can do nothing. Because this can be a difficulty, we suggest that where possible you do open a new site. You can always have links on the new site back to the old site.
